Regional Cooperation
The District has adopted the water conservation provisions of this Plan pursuant to a Strategic Partnership Agreement entered into with the City of Austin, pursuant to which the District agreed to adopt and enforce water conservation measures and goals similar to the City- i.e., the reduction of daily peak water demand by one percent per annum. Although the District is not subject to adoption of a water conservation plan under the rules of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (“TCEQ”), the water conservation elements of this Plan are generally based on, and reflect, the water conservation plan elements promulgated by TCEQ.
The District sent the following letter to residents informing them of the adoption of this plan.
